Inclusion

Inclusion and inclusive practice in Raffles Early Years Childhood Centre is about practices which ensure that everyone ‘’belong’’: the children and their parents and/or carers, staff and other people connected with the setting in some way.

Inclusion and inclusive practice in Raffles Early Years Childhood Centre is about practices which ensure that everyone has a sense of ‘’belonging’’: the children, their parents and/or carers, staff and other stakeholders connected with the setting.

Every child is unique and will develop at their own pace, so it is important that every child is treated fairly with attention being given to their individual backgrounds, interests and needs. We ensure that our teachers build a strong understanding of the needs and interests of every child and that our planning and provision reflects this.

At Raffles ECC, we believe in supporting children to:

  • Feel safe and welcome

  • Develop a sense of belonging

  • Learn and develop at their own pace

  • Reach their full potential

Raffles ECC’s aim to promote inclusive practice. We encouraged children to learn about lifestyles that are different to their own and gain an awareness that diversity should be celebrated and enjoyed.

Finally our settings are proactive at challenging and addressing any barriers to inclusion such as negativity conscious or unconscious bias and stereotyping. We believe a fairer and more equal society benefits everyone and supports young children’s development, health, education and well-being.
